CoronaVirus / COVID-19 Update

Dear LAPMS Parents/Guardians,

Here at LAPMS, safety of our children and our staff is always our first priority.

We at LAPMS are closely watching the developments concerning the Coronavirus in and around our Bay Area Communities.

Please be rest assured that we are taking this unique situation extremely seriously.

Out of an abundance of caution, we have taken the following steps:

1) We have canceled all employee travel to the upcoming AMS conference in Dallas, Texas and restricted any future company travel.
2) Although our janitorial service cleans our schools five days a week. Last week, we have had our janitorial service start the deep cleaning of our campuses.

This Friday – 03/13/2020 during our in-service teacher training, we will take this one step further and deep clean the classrooms and the outdoor play area equipment.

This is over and above the deep cleaning which is being done by the janitorial company.

Our teachers are spending extra time and effort having the children wash their hands and keeping the classrooms clean.

We are requesting parents to please keep children home if they are ill and also we are requesting parents to pick up their children immediately if they become ill at school. We are also asking for a Dr.’s note upon returning to school.

We have received questions regarding the possibility of our school closure. The Alameda county, the State of California and the Center of Disease Control (CDC) are not recommending school closures at this time.

As we become aware of any new developments, we will certainly make adjustments for the safety of our children and our staff. Information of any changes will be relayed to the parents immediately.

Again, be rest assured that we are doing our best to meet this unique challenge and we thank you for your continued cooperation and support.
