The Montessori Head Teacher

Looking for a fulfilling position in early childhood education? Learn And Play Montessori School’s Fremont Campuses are seeking full time Head Teacher for our Montessori Preschools. The Head Teacher is responsible for supervising an assigned group of children, following the philosophy and standards of the school in conjunction with the Montessori Philosophies and Early Childhood Programs. Responsibilities include assisting with planning activities, supervising children, ensuring children’s safety and managing classroom environments. The Head Teacher is expected to appropriately communicate with children, staff and families, and is responsible for working cooperatively and productively with other staff.

  • 12 core semester units Child Development Child, Family & Community and Curriculum in Early Childhood Education is required.
  • Related AA/BA is required.
  • At least 1 year of Center experience is required.
  • AMS Montessori training and/or certificate is preferred.
  • Need CPR certification, LiveScan fingerprint clearance.
  • Current TB test and a current Health Report.
  • Must be currently authorized to work in the United States.
  • Will need to provide 3 professional references.
  • Ability to relate to children in a positive and constructive manner.
  • Ability to understand each child as an individual.
  • Ability to communicate professionally with parents.
  • Ability to share concerns, ask questions, and provide feedback.
  • Have great energy.
  • The desire to learn different things.

The Assistant Teacher

The Assistant Teacher is responsible for aiding in the supervision of an assigned group of children, following the philosophy and standards of the school in conjunction with the Montessori Philosophies and Early Childhood Programs. Responsibilities include assisting with planning activities, supervising children, ensuring children’s safety and managing classroom environments. The position of the Assistant Teacher requires the person to be flexible and cooperative since the Assistant teacher will not be assigned to a permanent classroom or job duty. The Assistant teacher will also have to be flexible and be willing to work in other classrooms, kitchen, and front desk.

  • Must be 18 years or older.
  • 1-2 years of Center experience required.
  • Must work towards completing 12 semester units of Early Childhood Education.
  • Live Scan fingerprints and a valid driver’s license.
  • Current TB test and a current Health Report.
  • Must be currently authorized to work in the United States.
  • Provide previous employer references.
  • Ability to relate to children in a positive and constructive manner.
  • Ability to understand each child as an individual.
  • Ability to communicate professionally with parents.
  • Ability to share concerns, ask questions, and provide feedback.
  • Have great energy.
  • The desire to learn different things.
