The Cultural Studies curriculum at Learn And Play Montessori School goes beyond traditional classroom learning. We teach students about the histories, languages, celebrations, and values of people around the world. We believe in nurturing well-rounded students and helping them understand the world around them. The Cultural Studies component of our curriculum gives our students the chance to explore, appreciate, and connect with global cultures. Rooted in the Montessori philosophy, this subject also encourages empathy and respect for diversity.
LAPMS integrates subjects such as zoology, geography, history, and botany within our Cultural Studies program. Unlike traditional schools, which often teach through textbooks alone, our approach is hands-on and invites students to explore through interactive lessons. At its core, Cultural Studies makes children feel connected –not only with their own culture but the diverse world they live in.
In zoology, they have explored the fascinating world of mammals, gaining an understanding of their characteristics and the different types that exist. In geography, they have been introduced to land and water forms, discovering features such as isthmuses and straits. Most recently, our students have been learning about Australia, including its capital city and the unique animals that inhabit the region.
